Comment | Pyridinium refers to the cation [C5H5NH]+. Often present in oximes as in the first reactivator of OP inhibited cholinesterase Pralidoxime (2-PAM). These are charged oximes which poorly cross the blood brain barrier. When two pyridinium molecules are joined by an appropriate linker one could bind to the PAS and the other attach the phosphorus of OP inhibited cholinesterase and eventually reactivate the enzyme
