CommentCopolymer of Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) and polyhydroxypentanoate (PHV). Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) is a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) is produced by bacteria ( Ralstonia eutrophus, Methylobacterium rhodesianum or Bacillus megaterium) when nutrients are limited. The poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (P3HB)is the most common type, but other polymers are also produced poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB), polyhydroxyvalerate (PHV), polyhydroxyhexanoate (PHH), polyhydroxyoctanoate (PHO) and their copolymers. They are used as source of bio-derived and biodegradable plastics.
