CommentLabrasol is a lipid-based self-emulsifying excipient used in the preparation of lipophilic drugs intended for oral delivery. It is mainly composed of PEG esters and glycerides with medium acyl chains, which are potential substrates for lipases. Labrasol is a non-ionic water dispersible surfactant composed of well-characterised polyethylene glycol (PEG) esters, a small glyceride fraction and free PEG PEG-8 mono and diesters, mono-, di- and triglycerides and free PEG-8. The main fatty acids are caprylic and capric acids
