Substrate Report for: Suberin

Suberin is an insoluble polyester composed of long chain fatty acids called suberin acids, and glycerol.Suberins are covalently linked to lipids and lignin. Suberin is composed of polyaromatic and a polyaliphatic cross-linked domains. The biosynthesis of the aliphatic monomers shares the same upstream reactions with cutin biosynthesis, and the biosynthesis of aromatics shares the same upstream reactions with lignin biosynthesis.
