Myristoleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid that represent approximately 0. 3 - 0. 7% of the total fatty acid composition of adipose tissue triacylglycerol in human. It is an omega-5 fatty acid. It is biosynthesized from myristic acid by the enzyme Stearoyl-CoA desaturase-1, but it is uncommon in nature
