Now we are in the process of reinitializing the ESTHER mailing list.
The purpose of the mailing list is described below.
The list will be highly moderated so you will not be overwhelmed with messages: we will send 4 messages a year to keep you posted with the evolution of the ESTHER database and news related to alpha beta hydrolases and the cholinergic system.
To SUBSCRIBE simply send a message to sympa@listes.inra.fr sympa@listes.inra.fr with no subject and "subscribe esther yourname" as a message
To SEND A MESSAGE use the following address: esther@listes.inra.fr <esther@listes.inra.fr
To GET SOME HELP on how to use the list and all the possible commands :
The message needs to be sent to :
sympa@listes.inra.fr Simply write HELP as a message and do not put any 'subject'
For help you can also send us a message at chatonne@supagro.inra.fr or at maildenico@gmail.com
You can see the Archives of the mailing list, or pdf archives of the news letters
The ESTHER mailing list is aimed at facilitating exchange of information, protocols, ideas and at functioning as a forum for discussion for researchers involved in the characterization and analysis of members of the superfamily of alpha/beta hydrolases and the cholinesterase gene family.
Associated topics of molecular pharmacology, protein structure/function, and other questions or discussions revolving around these proteins are also relevant, e.g.,
- structure function analysis of the protein with the alpha/beta hydrolase fold
- sequence comparison
- mutation analysis
- kinetic analysis
- use of inhibitors in agriculture (insecticides), in medicine for treatment of pathologies such as Alzheimer 's disease (tacrine huperzine galanthamine Aricept) or Myasthenia gravis (eserine, physostigmine)
- use of reactivators in therapeutics against nerve gas such as VX, soman, sarin
- paraoxonase, OP-hydrolases, etc...
