His PhD mentor was Jean-Pierre Changeux. He had a double carrier at the CNRS and Pasteur Institute (1990-2005) and a third one at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle (2005-2008), all in Paris, France. With his students and collaborators, he characterized and cloned the AChE found in the venom of the snake Bungarus fasciatus.
