Philippe de Clermont (born 1831 died in 1921) was a french organic chemist. He worked in Adolphe Wurtz's laboratory in Paris with the muscovite Wladimir Moschnin. He was known for the synthesis of the first organophosphate cholinesterase inhibitor (tetraethylpyrophosphate, TEPP) which he tested on himself without any trouble. This delayed the discovery of the effect of OP on nervous system.
