Likid
(Lipase Kinetics Database)

Site under construction

A wish to organize lipase kinetics has recently led to collaboration between three laboratories in the south of France: the EIPL and AFMB labs in Marseille and the DMEM lab in Montpellier.

Since the onset of biochemical researches on soap, kinetics data never stopped to expend, and it now appears that most lipases do not display a well-defined specificity but instead, can act on wide ranges of substrates.

These features (expending data and substrate diversity) justify the need for a new, adapted bioinformatics tool to precisely compare all available kinetics data on lipases in taking into account most if not all experimental conditions.
Likid is a collaborative database whose purpose is to allow any member of any lab to upload his/her own data in a controlled format and to compare them with all other data deposited by others using the same format.
Ultimately Likid will provide its users with a statistical analysis tool.
